Peninsula Agricultural Commission: Saanich Peninsula, British Columbia, Canada; We are an advisory committee sponsored by the member municipalities of Saanich, Central Saanich, North Saanich and Sidney. We were established in 1998. Who sits on the Commission? We have 9 voting members who are local farmers and four Municipal Council representatives. We also have agricultural professionals from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and the Agricultural Land Commission.

Increase public awareness, educatiion and support for a sustainable farm community.
Foster stewardship of farmland which embraces environmental and other community values.
Increase economic returns to farmers.
Secure an adequate supply of water to farms at a competitive cost
Maintain and enhance the sustainability of agriculture on the Saanich Peninsula

Brought drainage issues to the table- resulting in improved drainage at McHugh Ditch, Hagen Creek and Durrell Creek.
